UMC Children’s Hospital is passionate about protecting the lives and futures of our children. To support safe water practices, UMC and Texas Tech Physicians will be hosting the 3rd annual UMC Children’s Water Safety Event for parents and children to provide water safety training for all ages, distribute fitted life jackets, and offer admission to Lubbock’s premier water park, Water Rampage, entirely free of charge*.
“2023 is UMC Children’s Hospital’s 3rd Annual Water Safety Event. UMC Children’s is dedicated to keeping the children within Lubbock and the surrounding communities safe,” said Erica Allen, Community Outreach Specialist. “Over the past three years, we have seen a decline in the number of pediatric drownings within our area. We hope to educate families and put children’s safety at the forefront of our efforts throughout the year, but especially during the summer months when water activities are more prevalent.”
Join us for an evening of fun and learning. CPR training, First Responder Truck tours, life jacket fittings, great giveaways, and more are included for free with this event.
UMC EMS, as well as the Lubbock Fire & Rescue Dive Team, will be in attendance.

*Please note:
– Free lifejackets will be provided while supplies last
– No outside food or drinks – bags/coolers will be checked
– Children must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the new water slides
– Those who leave the park after admission will need to be readmitted to reenter
– Once the park is at capacity, no one else may be admitted
