Neonatal Outreach and Educational Programs

Together, We Can Build a More Promising Tomorrow

“UMC Children’s Hospital is committed to optimizing neonatal care and outcomes throughout the region. As a level IV NICU, we are dedicated to being a valuable resource for education and services.”

In-Person Group Education Offerings

Each of our trainings is developed with the unique needs of your facility in mind. From initial infant resuscitation to complex neonatal procedures, we’ve worked hard to create programs that meet your needs and strengthen the care we provide to our region. To schedule education for your facility, please complete a request form so we can share the details you’ll need to get started.

Our current educational offerings include:

  • Maternal education. Explore existing maternal education offerings or request a specific topic to accommodate your facility needs with the help of our outreach team.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Neonatal simulations. Learn how to respond effectively when every second counts through simulations of real-world situations tailored to the capabilities of your hospital.
  • Post-delivery newborn care. Ensure your team is ready to act swiftly and effectively with techniques that address respiratory distress, bradycardia or cardiac arrest.
  • Procedure workshops. Gain the expertise you need to intubate a newborn, place an emergency line, insert an IV or perform a needle aspiration with confidence.
  • The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program Dive into how the word “stable” can be used as a mnemonic memory tool to help you care for newborns after they’re resuscitated and pre-transport stabilization practices.

If your team has specific needs not covered by our standard offerings, please ask us. We’d be delighted to customize a training session for you.
