Our Subspecialties
Every child is unique and deserving of the best possible medical care. To us, that means going beyond offering advanced treatments and the latest technologies. It means tailoring your child’s care to meet their particular needs, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable while they’re with us — and helping them reach for stars.
All the Support You Need for a Lifetime of Care
As a parent, you hope your kids’ childhood years are full of wonder. So, when they aren’t feeling their best, you need a team by your side with an unshakable desire to help them get back to living their best life. From common childhood illnesses to complex medical conditions, our skilled pediatric teams are ready to care for your kiddo as we would our own.
Allergy & Immunology
Behavioral and developmental problems can be hard on children and their families. That’s why our pediatric specialists are specially trained to meet families where they are today — and to support them through their full treatment journey. Bringing together pediatric specialists in psychiatry, psychology, counseling, social work and nursing, we care for the emotional well-being of children, treating conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, social difficulties, substance abuse and more.
Digestive Health
Our endocrinologists have the clinical experience and expertise you need to help with your child’s hormone-related condition. From diagnosis to ongoing management, we’ll be with your family every step of the way for treatment of conditions like juvenile diabetes, low thyroid, overactive thyroid and growth hormone deficiency.
Genetics
Our geneticists use advanced testing to diagnose children with hereditary disorders like Down Syndrome,
muscular dystrophy and autism, sometimes even before birth. Once diagnosed, these conditions can
require a lifetime of care — and you can count on us to be there with treatment options to meet your child’s needs.
Infectious Disease Care
We know that kids sometimes need care from specialists who understand how they respond differently to
certain illnesses and treatments, infectious diseases included. Our specialized care team is dedicated to
preventing, diagnosing and treating antibiotic-resistant bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections.
Neurology
Partnering with the Texas Tech Physicians Pediatric Neurology team, we treat brain and nervous system
issues, including daytime sleepiness, muscular dystrophy and seizure disorders. We also offer a full range
of surgical services.
Oncology & Hematology
Not only do our oncologists and hematologists provide the highest level of care for children with cancer and blood disorders like leukemia, brain tumors, bone cancer and sickle cell disease; our partnerships with the Children’s Oncology Group and the Texas University Health Sciences Center ensure your child has access to today’s most promising cancer treatments.
Opthalmology
From common vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, crossed eyes and lazy eyes to more
serious pediatric eye conditions like cataracts, glaucoma and blocked tear ducts, we provide a full suite of
ophthalmology services for children.
Orthopedics
Our in-house orthopedic team cares for children with musculoskeletal conditions, including scoliosis, broken bones and developmental issues. Our team can set casts, prescribe physical therapy and perform
surgeries.
Pulmonology
When your child has respiratory issues, it can be hard for your family to catch its breath. That’s why we’ve
brought together a respected team of pulmonologists to guide you through every step of care; testing for
conditions like asthma, cystic fibrosis and upper respiratory infections; and helping alleviate symptoms with treatments like inhalers, nebulizers and respiratory therapy.
Radiology
Our radiologists work closely with your child’s pediatrician and specialists to ensure they have a clear
picture of your child’s health. They interpret tests like ultrasounds, X-rays, CT scans and MRIs, so you have
the answers you need to make informed treatment decisions.
Urology
Our urology team is specially trained to care for young patients with conditions that affect the urinary tract, kidneys, bladder and genitals, even when they can’t explain what’s wrong. They may conduct tests,
recommend treatments or perform surgeries to ensure your child is on a path toward recovery.
Wound Care
When your child has a wound that won’t heal, it can become serious without the proper attention. You can count on our wound care team for the extra support you need, including a personalized care plan that promotes healing, faster recovery and minimal scarring. Some patients may receive care for their wounds in our burn unit.
